ID-BI-ID means Hand in Hand. We have a popular saying here in Lebanon: Id we7de ma bit za’ef. One hand cannot clap alone. It’s only when we work together that we can achieve something. Thus the name of this project that started in 2020. This year, we are doing it again, in association with Made by Nature, Kulturnest and others.
ID-BI-ID is a project by Tourleb, a socially responsible tour operator based in Lebanon. This project aims at supporting local producers, artists and artisans especially during a crisis, or when in need. Today, ID-BI-ID focuses on producers, artists and artisans in the South of Lebanon, in the aftermath of the war on the South, the bombing of agriculture fields, and the internal displacement of over 50 000 people.
This end-of-year, we will be focusing on preserves. Our food history goes back at least 3 millennia. And our preserves are an intrinsic part of our history, heritage and traditions. But also it is the main livelihood of many rural families, and the backbone of our food industry. So you can easily imagine the catastrophe losing agricultural fields – in a country as small as Lebanon – represents for the people and the economy.
Many women have prepared the mouneh this year – and then had to suddenly flee, leaving everything behind. And now, they desperately need to sell their product in order to be able to withstand at least the winter. Hoping next year brings better tidings.

Where will the money go ?

The money will be divided in 2
- Most of the proceeds will help buy products from the id-bi-id initiative; These products will be distributed to families through NGOs or through communities we trust;
- A small part of the proceeds will allow Tourleb to keep their storytellers and team in a period of absolute stalemate, to uphold their promise of helping where we can.

When you buy a product or donate to id-bi-id, you have to know that 100% of the money producers ask – they get.
